I don't believe in miracles. But Larry is looking at the unidentified flying object and wishes more than ever that we could all be ready. Mostly he's singing that sweet, sweet song of salvation with no lisp (not that he ever had one). He knows more than ever how puny the guy with the six sixty-six actually looks and how seriously defeated he is. Now Larry's thinking how good it is that he got to be a soul survivor (and gave the name to a whole movement in the UK).

I recently paraphrased Larry in a mass e-mail. Instead of "A song can't stop the world...," it was "A blog can't stop the world...but it might stop you." I don't know how much of my head is made up of Larry's phrases and street level insights into God's love for us, but it's a big percentage. Makes me think I oughta do more looking in the mouth of love and find the wisdom tooth.

I like this look. WP is a rising tide to raise all boats. But so much for faint praise. What I like about chezjoel.com is the depth, if not the freakwency, of the posts.

Wow, we were paying so little for gasoline just two years ago. And we hated how high the prices were back then.

Thanks for the heads-up on the spelling tip. I'm gonna go with "I'm rusty" and omit the fact that I've never done well without a dictionary nearby.

"Austronauts" is a nice coinage. (Or should that be "borealinauts"?)

Glad to see you blogging again. We, your faithful readers, were becoming concerned.

Brother, oh brother,
wherefore art thou, oh brother?

Hast thou taken leave of mine senses?

Hardly have I passed a day without suffering this sense of loss. Hardly dost mine memory recall days past wherest thou hast not been among those recallings.

Break forth, oh sojourner, and awaken that truer part of thine essence which harbours thy wit and wisdom - tary not, lest our memories fade beyond recovery.

Brother, oh brother, wherefore art thou, oh brother?

I'm sure English teachers are glad about the "a." But what about the linguists? Especially psychobabble linguists like Noamsky Chomp? He may take the "a" to new heights of political extrusion and tell Chavez how to make an "a."

My big worry is that Armstrong was a mole from Canada. And what he really said was, "One small step for man, eh." The Australian had better check his sequencing.
